Here is what we've noticed:

Search
The behaviour of some readers consists in copying short amounts of text from your site and pasting it into a search engine, to help them find the information they are searching for. In this case, there's not much you can do about user retention, because "short copies" reveal the search intent of your readers who will leave your site shortly after, causing you little to none revenue associated with search.

Keep
Most readers copy content from the web and keep it to themselves. That's a piece of information no other share tool delivers, but the copy/paste action monitoring tool.

Share
There are however readers who copy content from your blog and then share it with their friends, thus promoting your website and your brand. Those are the users who you should engage with your blog, to generate more visits and page views.
